Damn broke. That's what an average student gets when he buys a new car and so independently wishes to pay for it on his own.

Just Wow

Wow.

I have now reached a time when there's absolutely nothing to fix about my car. No more under-the-hood or undercar problems. I'm almost done with my baby SUV project.

So I'll tell you what's happened since I got my own baby truck in June of 2003. I had the power steering pump and A/C unit repaired, the whole electrical system rewired, and some more stuff for aesthetic purposes during the first week of acquisition alone. Next up was its PMS - periodic maintenance schedule. It's an every-5000-kilometers thing, so that actually translates to about 3 months. It included oil change (and everyone calls it "change oil" for some really odd reason), oil filter change, timing (it sorta controls how sparks are fired - if it's an advance or a retard thing) check, valve clearance check, and all other mechanical stuff even I don't understand.

Then I got an air filter assembly that's got a bright yellow foam for the filter element. Actually, one major factor was the color. After that, I bought some indiglo pedals for more something-effect. They light up blue along with the park lights so they look pretty nice especially when it's dark. Got an alarm system too.

Over the year, I had to replace something that works along with the clutch (it actually looks like some sort of fork) twice. And it was really tedious, having to watch all those people carry the transmission that looks like it weighs no less than a hundred pounds and wait like a day and half to get the job done. Then break next did the water pump and the fan thing right in there, and then the brakes twice serviced. Oops, and I bought a new battery just now and had it installed.

Whew, that was a lot of work I had done in just one year. And now everything's okay.

Maybe I'm forgetting about the paint. Or maybe, it just needs a little bit of wax and some detailing effort.

Next thing to save up for - 17-inch rims for the little hybrid monster.

Sorry for all the car-people terms. I thought you wanted a long post.

Yeah, I know. What do you even care about this?

Shell Velocity

P27.50 for a liter of 95 RON (95 my ass) gasoline?

A carless day plus the odd-even traffic scheme?

The end is near.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday big bro!

Now give me those two front tires. My left-front one burst open and I need to change both. Ü

I Do

Ready for a long one?

My big brother got married on last Wednesday, August 18th. We were talking the night before, and I was actually trying to talk him out of it. See, it's not really his (or anyone else's in the family, for that matter) bride. She's old, and I mean really old. She's already 40 (yeah, my brother's only 24 this week). My mom is 46, and my grandmom is about this girl's mom's age, so it's like skipping one generation. Whoever said age doesn't matter? It so matters when you're picking the best bride.

He sure doesn't like to marry her, either. It's just that she got her pregnant and there's no way of turning back time. It was their actions, and now, it was time for them to face whatever turns out of what they did.

Marriage is a sacred thing for me. It's not something to be rushed, nor forced. It's got to be planned carefully and meticulously, and of course, done in time. But the Manila Cathedral for the venue is definitely out of the question. All couples ever married in that place get separated after some time, I'm telling you. So anyways, back to it. I was feeling a little scared for him. This isn't what we all wanted. He could get married in the fairly distant future, after he gets a job and is already quite financially stable, but not now. Yes, all those things came in mind. But what struck me most was the whole concept behind it. He's getting legally bound to someone. Forever.

I still feel scared whenever I think about myself getting married. Perhaps, when I'm 30, I'll have the guts. Or maybe, when I find someone I'd die for just to be with my entire life - whichever comes first.

That's what you call writing without coherence. I might do it another time - and come up with something better than this.

All Swell and Sore

I'm feeling sore all over. I love doing the flyes! I wonder why I never paid much attention to that thing before. Now I know.

Tuesday next week - delts and traps.

I'm Buff

I'm finally gonna start going to the gym after like a 3-month rest. Again. Wow, I hope this becomes like a regular thing for me.

Wish me luck.

Happy Birthday, Congratulations

My eyes are pretty sore and I'm writing a new mini-post. I'm even chatting on IRC, and I have yet to write a drama scenario treatment for my Radio Script class. I feel so six feet under. Credit card holders, you know what I mean.

Speaking of mini-posts, my blog has become a mini-blog. I'm just too busy.

I didn't have anything to do yesterday so I recorded a horrible station ID for DZUP (UP radio station). You guys wanna hear it? Leave me a message and I'll email it to you. It's 700 kilobytes. It might be the long wait if you're on dialup. It just might.

Happy Birthday Chelai. LOL.

My big brother is getting married to his (I think) 8-month pregnant girlfriend today. It's gonna be a civil wedding. No entourage, no best man, no gowns, no cake, no singers (if there would be, I'd be the only one), no TV coverage, no nothing. I wouldn't even be there because I have to attend my Radio Speech class.

I'll tell you about what I think of weddings and marriage. But not today.

Prisoner of Azkaban

So I finished the computer game in two days. And they said in the TV ad on some cable network that every aspect of the game has become more matured since the Chamber of Secrets.

I didn't even have fun.

Another Cinderella Story

I'll see this movie again tomorrow.

I'll get the DVD too.

Who cares if I get the anti-Edu-Manzano copy? I've paid enough to the theatres.

I so love the soundtrack. Maybe I'll have it too. I don't mean have have. I mean I'll-download-the-soundtrack-songs-through-Kazaa-lite have.

A Cinderella Story

I've seen it twice. Yesterday and two days ago.

I've got only one thing to say about this movie.

I wanna watch it again.

Radio Idol: The Screwed Challenge

After an hour of pure fun and bonding with two other Idol worthies (and of course, a Wendy's treat from RX), I can say I'm a better person.

Mia Gaspar is a DLSU graduate. She stayed in New York for three years. She must have been surrounded by Black people there. Hence, the accent. So, you guys who heard her last Tuesday, it's for real. She wasn't faking it or something.

Maurice Gaerlan is an ADMU graduate. He prefers the on-air nickname Maliksi, though. Maybe it's the ethnic thing behind it. I don't know.

So it was a fight among people from the top three schools. But actually, it was a super close fight between me and Mia. Maliksi, on the other hand, sounded a little too animated. According to one of the judges there, "Two words: Cartoon Network."

Although I didn't make it to level three, I'm still happy about it. The experience was totally, uh, I don't know. But it did make me feel way better than I had most of my life.

Look at the bright side. I'm part of Radio 1 now.

I'm totally RX.
